We have been designing, configuring, and implementing data backup and business continueity plans for many years. Remote Data Backup is the only service we provide with near perfection.
-
There are many backup services that offer unlimited storage for $8.99/month. Why shouldn't I go with them?
Many of these services are very limited in support and functionality, they are mainly designed for less secure and unreliable data backups. Unlike these backup services, World Wide Data Services Inc provides complete support and an endless amount of advance features and functionality with the highest data encryption availble today.
-
Why Are Backups By World Wide Data Services Inc. Considered More Beneficial?
The data is immediately stored off-site using an automated backup system. Also, only an internet connection is needed. Completely eliminating the need for expensive backup equipment and media. And, since the system is automated, manual labor is eliminated.
-
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. We don't require contracts, but contract clients receive discounted prices based on contract length. Our standard 48-month service agreement offers the best pricing.
-
How much does it cost?
Our service starts as low as $44.95/month. Our service is provisioned based on each client's environment. In order to get an accurate price quote please call and speak to one of our specialists at (800) 619 7271 option 1.
-
How long does the backup take?
Backups are extremely fast. Our client software employes advance technology that transmit only the change portions of changed files during each backup session. The exact time depends on the size of the data. Offices with high-speed internet connections should find this service comparable with tape drives. Dial up users will be able to do incremental backups in thirty to sixty minutes. The initial backup can take several nights to complete. We recommend backing up the most important files first and then selecting other files as the backup progresses. Or, the initial backup can be run over the weekend. Also, we can come to your office and make the initial backup of your system.
-
Will my data be secured?
Yes. The two maain security measures that World Wide Data Services uses are
1. Limiting access to your data; and
2. encrypting your data with 448bit encryption before trasmission and storing it in an encrypted state.
All files are encrypted using Blowfish or DES encryption which is selected by the user with their own personal encryption code which is only known by the user of the system. Blowfish encryption has never been broken by a hacker. DES is used by the federal banking system.
-
What is encryption?
Encryption is basically a mathematical formula that scrambles a data file. And the only way to unscramble it is with the encryption code.
-
Will I have to install software?
Yes the backup requie a small software agent to be installed on the computer(s) to be backed up. After install you can make modification to your configuration. Tech support is available for assistance.
-
Do I need to back up my entire computer?
No, but if this is something you wouyld like to have done, our system has the ability to do a complete backup and restore of all supported operating systems. Most clients backup only their data files, while others backup their applications and operating systems. You can select only the files, directories, or drives that you wish to back up. As you know, World Wide Data Services can only restore the data you back up. Please make sure you are backing up all your critical files.
-
What if we already have a tape backup system?
Using a tape backup system and an off-site backup system offers the best of both worlds. Critical files, like billing, customer contact files and databases can be kept remotely. While, the tape system can be used to create a full backup of the entire system once or twice a month, instead of on a daily basis. The tapes and drive will last longer and require less maintenance. The remote system can provide a quick and easy way to retrieve critical files and databases without the hassle of searching through tapes.
-
What if we already have a Zip drive?
Frankly, we believe that it is not optimal for most users to use a zip or other removable disk media for backup. Our backup service is completely automated and has the required file redundancy to protect important data. The only safe way to use a zip drive for backup is to have three disks and make the same backup three times. That way when one of the disks fails you are still protected.

Onsite, Offsite - What's The Difference?
Basically, our backups work like regular tape backups, with one important difference. Instead of sending backups to a tape drive or other media attached to the computer being backed up, our backupa send encrypted file data over the internet to a computer file storage system safely off-site.
This usually happens at night while your business is closed and nobody is using the computers. It's completely automatic. In fact, you may forget it's working every night
